The Pumpkinvine Nature Trail is finally complete from Goshen to Shipshewana, and a celebration 33 years in the making is being planned. Over the summer, the final 2,900-foot stretch between C.R. 35 and C.R. 20 was constructed and is open to the public. Thanks to the creativity and collaboration of Niblock Excavating, construction was finished well ahead of schedule. Earlier this year, the project was anticipated to stretch into the spring of 2024. Fencing and signage will be installed later this fall, wrapping up this long-anticipated project.
Friends of the Pumpkinvine are planning a celebration of this multi-decade project in 2024 as part of the annual Pumpkinvine Bike Ride. Reaching this point is pivotal for our community. It’s a testament to years of hard work by so many people. We are grateful and incredibly excited.
